Hi, I’m Raif - a SysOps Consultant based in Mauritius. I’m an introvert, and this blog is where I put down the things I’m building, breaking, and of course fixing.

Professional path #

I’m currently working as a SysOps Consultant at Teamwork Mauritius, keeping the lights on — managing servers, automating what I can, and a lot of cloud work.

I started my career at OceanDBA in 2023 as a Junior DevOps Automation Engineer, a role that slowly turned into a Linux Systems Administrator position. It was my first job, and where I learned a lot — Linux, Ansible, Proxmox, MariaDB, and Icinga/Nagios monitoring, among other things.

I’m 24 (turning 25 this year), and work across all things Linux. I’m also skilled in automation tools like Ansible, and virtualization/infra tools like Proxmox VE, QEMU, Docker, and Terraform.

Outside of work #

I game — mostly on Linux, which puts me in a fairly small club.
I’m an avid sim racer, and a big fan of F1, Endurance racing and motorsports in general.
I love tinkering with homelab and self-hosting — I run a handful of servers and virtual machines for services I use almost daily.
I also crawl sometimes with my Friends. :: Timberland Heritage RC Club ::
And, of course, working on this blog and other side projects.
